Servicemen of the Battlegroup Center air defense missile brigade destroyed more than 20 Ukrainian drones over four days while employing the new F-1 interceptor unmanned aerial vehicle for the first time, the Russian Defense Ministry said, TASS reported on October 22.

The ministry said the F-1, now in service with the brigade's anti-UAV unit, showed high effectiveness against high-speed targets. Over four days of combat use, crews destroyed more than 20 attack drones of various types, including the PD-2, Rubaka and Bliskavka.

The interceptor crew also destroyed two Anubis unmanned aerial vehicles, which the ministry said was the first time those aircraft had been brought down.

According to the ministry, Russian troops use the F-1 to counter strike and reconnaissance drones as they approach and to prevent attacks on military units. The crews work with air surveillance posts and radar station crews so aerial targets can be detected and eliminated in time.
